John Winston Lennon (October 9, 1940 - December 8, 1980) was an English singer, songwriter and musician. He gained worldwide fame as the founder, co-lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist of the Beatles. His works included music, writing, drawings, and films. His songwriting partnership with Paul McCartney remains the most successful in history as the primary songwriters of the Beatles.
